Passenger Profile Information – FAQs
This document is designed to provide you with an overview of the reasons why
World Missions Travel request certain information and outlines the benefits of providing
this information, prior to travel.
Q: What information do I need to provide?
A: The information that World Missions Travel require from you is:
- Given names and surname as on passport
- Company name
- Home address and telephone number (optional)
- Mobile telephone number (optional but very useful)
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Passport and visa information
- Frequent flyer/reward membership numbers
- Preferences, .i.e. non smoking, aisle seats, etc (optional)
Q: How do I provide this information?
A: By completing a Passenger Profile form available from the World Missions Travel
website or your travel co-ordinator.
Q: What happens to this information once it has been received by World Missions Travel?
A: Once received the information is used to build a Passenger Profile, which is then
attached to your Company’s Profile, stored on our global distribution system – Amadeus. For every
reservation made your profile will be used as the template for the booking and all relevant data
transferred into the booking.
Q: Why is this necessary?
A: Some of the information provided is vital to the reservation process. For example, a
large number of people are often known by a different name than that given on their passports.
If a flight reservation is made in a different name to that stated on a passport the result can
be that the passenger is denied access to the flight with no compensation offered. In addition to
this new international security laws, such as APIS, make the provision of passport and passenger
information mandatory, in order to allow entry into some countries.
Q: What is APIS?
A: APIS stands for Advanced Passenger Information System. The governments of various
countries require international airlines to collect Advance Passenger Information for passengers,
prior to travel. These countries include the UK, USA, Mexico, Canada, China and in the near
future India. The information required is:
- Passport number
- Country passport was issued in
- Passport expiry date
- Given names (as they appear on passport)
- Last name
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Nationally
In order to ensure that your check-in at the airport is as smooth as possible and to avoid
any additional queues, we strongly advise that this information is provided to the airline(s)
for all passengers in each booking, prior to arrival at the airport. It is also important
that the information is accurate so that you do not have any delay when you pass through
Immigration on arrival in these countries.
By completing a Passenger Profile form such information can be forwarded by World Missions
Travel to the airlines, prior to travel.
Important update From the 4th of October 2005 US legislation requires passengers to provide
the information in the Passenger Profile Information form:
